Turophiles Take Notice: The Town Cheesemonger Opens In Huntington Village

For those of you who were about to Google it, a turophile is a lover of cheese 🙂

And whether you happen to love it, like it, want to learn more about it, or would just like to purchase some of it — The Town Cheesemonger (located inside Industry Lounge and Gallery at 344 New York Ave in Huntington) is the NEW place in Huntington to make the cheese magic happen!

Some of the fromagian delights recently showcased for sale at The Town Cheesemonger include La Tur (Piedmont), Moliterno al Tartufo, Swiss Challerhocker, Vacherousse d’Argental, Delice de Bourgogne, Middlebury Blue (Blue Ledge Farms, Vermont), Sarvecchio, Fleur Airelles, Appalachian, and more!

“You can buy cheese in a number of outlets in today’s world,” states proprietor, Patrick Ambrosio. “But the difference here is I’ve got a lot of cheese you’re not going to find in conventional outlets. I’m shooting for a better level of cheese than you might see in your conventional outlets.”

“I have a fair amount of European cheese in here now,” Ambrosio continues, “but my dream is to convert the shop over to a more local, small farm kind of thing, where I’m buying directly from farmers when their stuff is at its peak condition. More New York state, Vermont — maybe from a 500-mile radius around here.”

Ambrosio will have the shop open several days a week in the near-term with plans to expand his hours as the calendar gets closer to spring.
