With the Town of Huntington's 19th Annual Tulip Festival scheduled for Sunday May 5 (rain or shine) PLUS a bunch of rain scheduled for the date of the happening, we decided to visit Heckscher Park on Saturday, May 4 so we could see the colorful flowers in sun-drenched full bloom before the storm rolled in to town!
The Tulip Festival is a family-oriented festival featuring more than 20,000 tulips, hands-on children's activity booths, family performances on the Chapin Rainbow Stage, art exhibitions, lectures and demonstrations, as well as refreshment sales booths.
While we might have missed the festive entertainment on Sunday, we definitely did not miss the gorgeous colors of the flowers throughout the park - and it was AMAZING being able to quietly appreciate their rainbow hues with almost no one else around!
What a beautiful town we have!
