On September 15th, thousands of runners (more than 5,500 in all) participated in the 41st Annual Great Cow Harbor 10K Run in Northport, NY - widely known as one of the most prestigious (and challenging) foot races in the country.
The weather was gorgeous - sunny and 75 degrees - as the crowds converged for this event that Runner's World has named as one of the top 100 races in the USA!
The Great Cow Harbor 10K Run and 2K Fun Run / Walk, a nonprofit event, is held in cooperation with a number of community organizations. The proceeds are used to make a substantial contribution to Special Olympics Long Island, the Veterans Administration, and our local food pantry.
The overall winner of the race was Donnie Cabral of Connecticut - who finished with a time of 29:29. The winner of the female division was Elaina Tabb - with a time of 33:37.
