Photo Gallery: Huntington Memorial Day Wreath Ceremony

On Sunday, May 27th 2018 at 9AM the Town of Huntington, New York honored veterans at their Memorial Day Wreath Ceremony – reminding us all, in an affecting way, that Memorial Day is about so much more than the kick-off to summer, barbecues, and beaches.

Originally slated to take place at the Veterans Plaza on the front lawn of the Huntington Town Hall, this meaningful ceremony was moved inside the Town Hall due to rainy weather conditions.

Hosted by Supervisor, Chad A. Lupinacci; Councilman, Mark Cuthbertson; Councilman, Eugene Cook; Councilwoman, Joan Cergol; and Councilman, Edmund J.M. Smyth, along with the Huntington Veterans Advisory Board (which is comprised of members representing the veteran organizations within the Town) – there was a wreath laying ceremony, patriotic music (performed by the St. Patricks’ R.C. Church Youth Choir), and poignant words shared to honor service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
