It was a dark and stormy night...
But even the rainy autumn chill in the air didn't deter bunches of costume-clad fun-seekers from heading into Huntington Village to participate in the Huntington Halloween Bar Crawl (hosted by Long Island Social Events) - a perfect excuse to enjoy some excellent food and drink at MULTIPLE Huntington establishments while ALSO dressed up in some crazy outfits AND benefiting an excellent cause!
on Saturday October 27th (from 2-8pm) Long Island Social Events kicked-off the best Halloween celebration east of New York City! They encouraged all participants to dress up and follow them as they crawled around Huntington from bar to bar, sampling the best pubs on the scene. Participants enjoyed great drink specials, a costume contest, music, beer swag giveaways, raffles and fun.
Some of the bars participating: P's & Q's, Christophers, Finleys, Nags Head, Huntington Village Tavern, Mary Carrolls...
The festive group spent about 1 hour at each bar before moving on to enjoy the next local pub. The bars were decorated in full celebration of the Halloween Season! Even some of the bartenders embraced the spirit and donned some outrageous holiday costumes!
The Huntington Halloween Bar Crawl donated a portion of the proceeds to MoRE (Motivational Recovery Environments) - they organize and run a one week camp on Shelter Island for children with life threatening illnesses at no cost to the campers or family.
This fun event was truly the kick-off of the Halloween celebration at one of the best downtown's east of the city. And when the formal event was finished - many of the participants remained downtown to continue experiencing some of the best of what the Huntington bar scene has to offer!
