PHOTO GALLERY: 17th Annual Tulip Festival at Heckscher Park

On Sunday, May 7, 2017, Heckscher Park was active with the smiling faces of local families enjoying the 17th Annual Tulip Festival.

This cherished Huntington Village event is a free, family-oriented, floral festival featuring a colorful and vibrant display more than 20,000 tulips n beds throughout Heckscher Park, hands-on children’s activity booths, family performances on the Chapin Rainbow Stage, art exhibitions, lectures & demonstrations; refreshment sales booths.

Huntington Councilman Mark Cuthbertson is the founder of the festival - while Astoria Bank served as the festival’s chief sponsor.

Some of the entertainment at the Tulip Festival included “Children’s Music with Mike Soloway”, "INKARAYKU: Journey Through the Andes: An Interactive Children’s Concert", and "Songs & Puppetry” with Janice Buckner.

Living Huntington photographer Rosanna Ruta was on hand at the event - and managed to capture the following photographs. Click through to view a larger version of any image (and to see who you might recognize):
