On Sunday, May 7, 2017, Heckscher Park was active with the smiling faces of local families enjoying the 17th Annual Tulip Festival.
This cherished Huntington Village event is a free, family-oriented, floral festival featuring a colorful and vibrant display more than 20,000 tulips n beds throughout Heckscher Park, hands-on children’s activity booths, family performances on the Chapin Rainbow Stage, art exhibitions, lectures & demonstrations; refreshment sales booths.
Huntington Councilman Mark Cuthbertson is the founder of the festival - while Astoria Bank served as the festival’s chief sponsor.
Some of the entertainment at the Tulip Festival included “Children’s Music with Mike Soloway”, "INKARAYKU: Journey Through the Andes: An Interactive Children’s Concert", and "Songs & Puppetry” with Janice Buckner.
