Seven Quarts Tavern is Uptown Northport's newest restaurant with old fashioned charm, a great selection of beers and wine, and delicious seasonal food.
The name Seven Quarts Tavern refers to the 1656 purchase of local land from Chief Asharoken of the Matinecock Indian tribe by three Englishmen. Three Englishmen purchased this land, known as Great Cow Harbor, for seven quarts of liquor, two coats, four shirts and eleven ounces of powder. In the mid 1600’s, the settlers and Indians had friendly relations and the transfer of land in exchange for these items helped the farming and shell-fishing blossom.
Our chef creates delectable dishes that will awaken your palette. The food is fit for a foodie or good ole’ pub lover. The drinks happen to be nothing short of refreshing and innovative too!
Seven Quarts Tavern was designed to enhance your dining experience. You’ll find a mix of patina inspired colors throughout the restaurant. Golds and rustic reds can be seen on the walls and on the eclectic lighting and fixtures spotted in cozy nooks and comfortable booths. Exposed brick walls mix with stone, copper, bronze and wooden decor to create an absolutely beautiful ambiance. The atmosphere is super hip with a laid back vibe.
Are you seeking a local restaurant that is intimate, inviting, casual, and friendly?
Some place that is: Chef created. Chef inspired. Chef driven. Specializing in craft food and signature cocktails.
A restaurant offering: Local ingredients. Simple ideas. Honest food. Bold flavors.
If so, you'll want to make a visit to Rustic Root Kitchen, helmed by Executive Chef Thomas Gloster.
Chef Tom is a Food Network Chopped Champion, and has many years of experience in the restaurant business. His mastery of local cuisine, is inspired by a childhood spent at markets and farms from Little Italy, through the east end of Long Island, and into the Hudson Valley and the Upstate New York community. His menu for Rustic Root Kitchen spotlights New American cuisine, thoughtfully prepared with a focus on local ingredients and creative twists.
His deep and diverse industry experience has led him to wide acclaim not only from critics and media, but also from his colleagues. In fact, his true passion lies in inspiring local chefs to evolve beyond the walls of their respective restaurants to help put Long Island on the map as a true culinary destination.
If you enjoy the Huntington Village restaurants that include Red Restaurant, Osteria de Nino, and Sapsuckers - then you will also love Huntington restaurateur Nino Antuzzi's other restaurant in Kings Park: Cafe Red!
Cafe Red features American & Italian cooking with hints of Asian fusion on their hybrid menu with favorites from Red & Osteria Da Nino.
Nino credits his success as a restaurateur to his upbringing and habits passed on from his mother, who calls Sardinia, Italy home. Growing up with "limited resources," mother taught Nino to waste nothing, to use local products, and to bring as much healthy influence into the cooking as possible.
This successful culinary approach has led to plenty of delightful decliciousness at Cafe Red through dishes like: Hay & Straw (fresh semolina & spinach pasta with mushrooms, cream & white truffle oil); Pork Shank Osso Bucco (slow braised with white wine, mirepoix, tomato & herbs, served over mashed potatoes); and Ora King Salmon (sesame crusted, sweet soy glaze & wasabi aioli, jasmine rice & steamed vegetables).

Chef Nino Antuzzi was born & raised in the mountains of Sardegna, Italy.
His family nurtured a love of cooking, a respect of food & how it relates to a sense of place. Nino would further hone his culinary skills while traveling through London, Paris & NYC before ultimately finding his home away from home in Huntington.
Osteria Da Nino was opened in September 2003 as a rustic, Italian restaurant featuring the recipes of Nino’s mother & his sisters. Renovated in 2014, the restaurant now boasts a charming bar area with an extensive ‘wine on tap’ system. The wine program features rotating wineries & varietals, poured by the glass, quartino & carafe. We also offer specialty cocktails, craft beer & bottled wine.
We look forward to seeing you for a meal of Italian food ‘made with love’.
Join us in our intimate yet casual bar or dining room & enjoy the warm & gracious service of our esteemed staff.
“I stopped into this place for lunch with my friend a few weeks ago for a late brunch & they did not disappoint. It was late afternoon & they weren’t as busy. We were seated when we walked in, without a reservation. We ordered the Osteria salad with grilled chicken & the Bianca pizza with mushrooms & truffle oil. Everything was delicious. We ordered coffee (it was really good!) and there was no room left for dessert because we were full! Our server was attentive & very nice. The decor was on point- rustic with antique chandeliers, and a fun, chill vibe. The prices were reasonable. The bill was around $30 for two. I would highly recommend & I will return :)”
