Kenwal Day Camp Philosophy
The Camp Kenwal philosophy is based on a very simple yet profound statement made by one their younger campers to his parents..." I didn't win, but I did my best." This positive attitude is exactly what Kenwal Day camp is all about.
Their entire Staff, from Directors to Group leaders, are very much aware that the Camp Kenwal definition of a successful day camp is one that will cultivate the campers' desire to participate, have fun, and try their best!
Years of working with children has taught the professional team at Kenwal Day Camp that "self-esteem is the reward for participating, without the pressure of having to win." They believe that all campers at camp Kenwal are in their own way, and at their own level- winners!
Kenwal Day Camp Team
Having lived the Kenwal experience for the past 37 years has led the directors to develop and live by the Kenwal Day Camp philosophy. With a combined experience of teaching, coaching, youth mentoring and community involvement, Howard, Larry, Dena, Lisa & Lou represent the epitome of involvement and concern for campers of all ages.
Every activity and event at Camp Kenwal is supervised by skilled instructors. The Kenwal Day Camp Specialty Directors and Group Leaders are carefully chosen to provide your child with the benefit of maturity and experience. Their qualified staff is always prepared and anxious to fulfill your child's individual needs for learning, as well as to create an atmosphere of exploration, discovery, and excitement. Their aim, at Kenwal Day Camp, is to provide an atmosphere filled with memories that your child - and you - will cherish forever. Many staff members are former Kenwal campers, who have a real understanding and sensitivity about what it feels like to be a camper. You will find that in a very short time your child will go from calling Kenwal Day Camp staff members "my instructor" -- to calling them "my Friend".

Some of their clubs are: drama, gymnastics, tennis, computer, archery and swimming.
At Kenwal Day Camp, they try to make every day a special day for everyone. Sometimes they go a little further and create a day for their campers that is more than having fun, playing games, discovering, and exploring. They actually create those special summer memories that your camper and you will share in and cherish forever. Some of those magic moments have happened when a camper shook hands with a pro baseball player, made a new friend, saw a bird hatch from an egg, or just realized that he did fit in and people do like him.

Kenway Day Camp Programs
Preschool and Kindergarten
Pre-school and kindergarten campers are offered the same exciting program and use of facilities as older campers, taking into consideration the size and needs of younger campers and modifying their program accordingly.
Our counselor to camper ratio is 1:4.
All pre-school and kindergarten campers are given Red Cross Instructional swim and free swim daily, with the opportunity for one-on-one instruction. As a result, many of Kenwal Camp's pre-schoolers and the majority of their kindergarten campers are going off the diving board at summer's end.
The pre-school and kindergarten program maintains separate air-conditioned camp houses and playgrounds, which also affords a rainy day facility where campers participate in arts & crafts, music, dance, and group games. It is their policy to keep our younger campers on camp grounds at all times.
