Celebrate National Beer Day In/Around Huntington

April 7

Did you know that beer is the world's most widely consumed alcoholic beverage?

Celebrate National Beer Day on April 7 with a pint of your favorite IPA, stout or lager!

The history of National Beer Day dates back to 1933 when President Roosevelt Franklin signed a law allowing people to brew and sell beer, in an initiation to end Prohibition. The only catch was that it had to remain under 4.0% ABV!

Now craft beer is a favorite drink for people across the world, and Huntington is no exception!

So you've already decided to celebrate this day by enjoying a drink somewhere locally - the only question is where?

We've got plenty of ideas for you!

Six Harbors Brewing Company

One option is Six Harbors Brewing Company, the first microbrewery in Huntington village.

Its name comes from the six harbors around Huntington.

The wide range of craft beers on tap are produced on site and available in pints and flights in the tap room and in growlers and cans to go.

Favorites include the Bay Hills Blueberry Wheat, Buddy’s Golden Lager, Walt Whitman White IPA, KAOS Left Coast IPA and various other styles and specialty brews including Porter, 'Nitro' Stout, and Southdown Sour.

Sand City Brewing Co.

Another great choice is Sand City Brewing Co., located in Northport village!

The name Sand City Brewing Co. is a tribute to the industrial era of Northport, when it was home to a number of sand mines. The most notable was Steers Sand & Gravel, who named part of Northport "Sand City."

At Sand City's tasting room, you can a beer by the pint, a flight, or even bring home a growler.

Their selections are constantly changing, but they are always sure to be named something creative, such as "It Takes A Village", "Oops I Hopped My Pants", and "Soup Du Jour". They also have collaborations with other local breweries.
