Huntington Summer of Hope Festival - Performance Schedule

August 12 - August 18

We are thrilled to announce the Huntington Summer of Hope Festival of performances on Facebook Live (with some at the CHAPIN Rainbow Stage, Heckscher Park, Huntington).

The Town of Huntington will be announcing the performances for the Huntington Summer of Hope Festival on a weekly basis. Please note NOT all of the shows take place at the CHAPIN Rainbow Stage, Heckscher Park, Huntington. ALL shows however, will be presented on facebook LIVE. Details on how to view the performances are in the program descriptions listed below.

In order to maintain the safety of the attendees, performers and staff, the following guidelines have been put in place:

  • Audience size must be limited to comply with standards for social and recreational gatherings, therefore attendance will be limited to residents of Huntington Township.
  • Advanced registration is required. A link to register is in the performance descriptions found on here our on our website under Huntington Summer of Hope Festival Performance Schedule. Your email confirmation, along with ID will be needed for entry into the performance.
  • Social distancing guidelines will be implemented including a minimum of 6 foot spacing between “seating”.
  • Face coverings are required.
  • No concessions or merchandise will be sold.
  • No pets please, with the exception of service animals.
  • Performances run through August 22. The schedule will be made available on a weekly basis. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7, 8:00 PM
Curtis Haywood Quintet

Saxophonist and steel pannist Curtis Haywood has always been in touch with the healing spirit of music. Joined by a talented band, Haywood’s haunting soprano saxophone gives voice and passion to a sultry mix of contemporary jazz originals and fresh arrangements of R&B favorites. Haywood’s rhythmic and soulful “Rain Song,” fully expresses his dedication to music as a healing force.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 8:00 PM
Plaza Theatrical Productions - Broadway Cabaret

Vocalist Lisa Berman, along with narrator Ruth McKeown, pianist Steve Goldstein, and drummer Rob Levy, bring you on a musical journey featuring Broadway favorites spanning over 100 years! Tap your toes and sing-along with show tunes made famous by Ethel Merman, Mary Martin, Elaine Stritch, Judy Garland and Patti Lupone.

Orchestra Long Island with David Stewart Wiley

Join Orchestra Long Island Music Director & Conductor David Stewart Wiley as host and keyboard player, for part II of a III part special of online performances (part III 8/16). Each performance focuses on a different orchestral section of wonderful professionals: Part II celebrates strings. The performances include favorites by Mozart, J.S. Bach, Wiley, Debussy, Dvorak, Lane, and others. Maestro Wiley gives background on the selections, plays pre-performance examples and joins his musical colleagues in this online event.

Family Show - Sonia De Los Santos

Born with a smile on her face in Monterrey, Mexico, Sonia De Los Santos tours the world, singing in English and Spanish, playing guitar and lighting up the stage every place she goes. She has performed in renowned venues and festivals such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and many more. Sonia was nominated in 2019 for a Latin Grammy®.

Red Panda

Steeped in funk, soul, blues, jazz and jam band culture, Red Panda thrives on mixing and mingling styles. Theirs is a form of rock that’s both absorbent and pliable. Band members pictured left to right, include Jim Guarini, Dave Sacrestano, Dan Bilawsky and Jay Orig.

Sol Y Sombra

Sol y Sombra performs a Flamenco themed concert of music and dance. Please join us for a pre-concert discussion with Sol y Sombra’s Founder & Artistic Director, Maria Loreta about the history & origins of Flamenco as a dance form.
