Not sure how to entertain your kids during their February vacation? It can be challenging finding fun activities to do, especially in the winter!
Luckily Huntington Historical Society has the perfect solution for you!
On February 18 and February 19 from 9:30am-12pm you can sign up your camper to participate in fun activities such as playing old fashion indoor games and learning how to weave!
Winter Break Camp is for students in grades 1-6.
WHAT: Their most popular summer activities in the winter! Campers will learn traditional weaving techniques on their four shaft looms and experiment with tapestry weaving. Then they will learn the art of making Kumihimo, the traditional Japanese technique of braiding strands to create intricately colored cords. Other fun activities include learning the historical way to churn butter, and playing some indoor old-fashioned games!
All campers will go home with a piece of their very own hand woven fabric, as well as a Kumihimo wheel. A snack of air-popped popcorn with homemade butter is included.
COST: The cost per day is $30 for members and $35 for non-members.
