History Takes A Vacation Camp: Our Winter Island

February 18 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

The Northport Historical Society is hosting an event that you definitely do not want to miss!

This is sure to be an experience unique to our area, with two days filled of fun!

On February 18 and 19 you are invited to bring your children on an exciting outdoor adventure where they will learn about native Long Island mammals and even get to take a trip out to Eaton's Neck to visit the Coast Guard Station.

The first day of the camp will include an interactive presentation by Volunteers for Wildlife, Rehabilitation Hospital and Education Center. This means your kids will get the chance to see some animals up close, such as a Screech Owl, a Box Turtle and maybe even a Falcon!

Eaton's Neck is home to the oldest Coast Guard Station in New York, and campers will get the chance to observe how the Active Duty, Reserves and Auxiliarists watch over Long Island Sound from Port Jefferson to east of New York City on the second day of camp!

Dress warm because you will be spending most of the day outside.

Camp costs $75 for members and $85 for nonmembers.

Space is limited. To reserve your spot click here.

Recommended for children grades 2-5.
