Safe Boating Week runs from Friday, May 19th through Friday May 25 and - in addition to bringing the Waterfront Festival to our community - ALSO focuses on safety in the water as boating season gets underway.
"The 2018 annual Boating Safety Week offers many useful and informative classes, lectures and fun events along with the outstanding Waterfront Festival which has increasingly become a popular way for the entire Long Island boating community to kick off the season," stated Jackie Martin, Executive Officer of the Greater Huntington Council of Yacht and Boating Clubs. "It's also a great venue for showcasing local boat dealers and equipment vendors, as well as displaying the works of local artists and craftspeople."
The Boating Safety Week events include a free eight-hour New York State Boating Safety course, courtesy vessel safety inspections by the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Power Squadron, PLUS courses, lectures, and seminars on a range of related topics.
